CL Associates have been involved with the development of a major housing site in Surrey for Linden Homes for a number of years.  Our involvement has included high level interaction with the client on a wide range of specialist geotechnical and environmental issues.  This has resulted in the solution to a variety of planning and practical remediation problems.

The site was a former quarry which had been partly infilled.  The involvement of CLA has continued since 2005 to the present time and has involved extensive ground investigation, sampling and testing and the installation of monitoring boreholes.

Advisory work has included contaminated land risk assessments, conceptual modelling, and preparation of the Remediation Method Statement.  This latter document required negotiations and the ultimate approval of the Environment Agency, the Local Authority Planning Department and the NHBC.

The site is presently undergoing restoration and ground treatment and CLA have had staff full time on site to oversee the works and carry out environmental monitoring.

Construction of houses is now underway on parts of the site which will ultimately be completed as a waterside village incorporating 500 houses, public open spaces and a wetland nature reserve.
